Small Acts, Big Change

A clean-up drive is a simple yet powerful way to care for the environment. By collecting trash in public areas, the community reduces pollution and creates a cleaner, healthier space for everyone.

Gardening is a great way to care for nature while providing food and greenery. Planting vegetables, flowers, or herbs not only beautifies the surroundings but also promotes sustainability and healthy living.

Segregating waste teaches responsibility and reduces the amount of garbage that goes to landfills. This simple household practice makes recycling and reusing easier for the community.

Reusable eco bags help lessen plastic waste that harms the environment. Choosing eco-friendly options shows that even small habits can create a positive impact.

Turning off unused lights and unplugging appliances are small acts that save energy. These habits reduce waste and help protect our planet’s natural resources.

Message of Hope and Unity for the President

Dear Mr. President Marcos,

As one of the many students who dream of a better future for our county, I feel it is important to voice the challenges that young Filipinos continue to face today. As a student who values both education and the well-being of fellow Filipinos, I am writing to respectfully share an issue that greatly affects many families and young learners.

I am concerned about the rising cost of living. Especially the increasing prices of food and basic necessities. Many parents now struggle to provide balanced and nutritious meals for their children, and this has a direct effect on their health and development. When young learners lack proper nourishment, it becomes harder for them to concentrate, participate actively in school, and reach their full potential.
I humbly appeal to your administration to strengthen programs that provide affordable and accessible food for families, particularly for students. By doing so, you will not only address the issue of hunger but also help learners stay healthy, motivated, and ready to achieve their dreams.

Respectfully,
Vanessa Yvonne Sales

A Reflection on My First Quarter Journey

During the First Quarter, I learned many things that helped me improve as a student. I gained new knowledge in my subjects and discovered how important it is to focus and manage my time well. I also realized that learning is not just about memorizing but also about understanding and applying what I study in real life.

Of course, I also faced some problems. There were times when lessons were difficult, and I had a hard time keeping up with the tasks. I also struggled with time management because of the many activities and requirements. To solve these, I asked questions from my teachers and classmates, reviewed my lessons more carefully, and tried to organize my schedule better. Moving forward, I will do my best to be more responsible and disciplined in my studies. I will work on improving my time management and keep a positive attitude even when I face challenges. With these, I believe I can do better and achieve more in the next quarters.

My Memorable Nutrition Month Experience

Last Nutrition Month our school hold a fun and meaningful celebration with the theme "Food at Nutrition Security, Maging Priority!
Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin! One of the most memorable experience I had was during the food festival held on 29th of July, 2025, where as our grade level participated in the said activity and sold various nutritious foods as well as supported other sections by buying their products too.

The experience gave me a new appreciation for health and nutrition. We showcased different heathy dishes that promoted proper nutrition, but not only that, our section also participated in the “Nutri-Jingle” competion and represented our school during the regional competition. Even though I wasnt a part of the team, I couldnt help but felt so proud they won.
It was both educational and enjoyable, making the experience fun while also teaching us valuable lessons about proper nutrition and healthy living. I enjoyed participating with my classmates and seeing how creative everyone was in promoting health. The different contests and presentations showed that leaming about nutrition can be interesting and engaging. Im thankful I got to be a part of an event that not only entertained us but also encouraged us to build better habits for a healthier future.

A Glimpse of Who I am

I am Vanessa Yvonne Sales, a 15-year-old student from Bantay, Ilocos Sur. I study at Ilocos Sur National High School (ISNHS) as an STE (Science, Technology, and Engineering) student, and I am currently in 10th grade.
Some of the things I enjoy doing are listening to music while doing something, online shopping, and doing random dress-ups and makeovers whenever I feel bored, because they make me feel relaxed, confident, and more expressive about myself. Music, in particular, helps me focus on my tasks and improves my mood, while fashion and dress-ups allow me to show my creativity in simple yet enjoyable ways. As a student, I always strive to balance my academics with my personal interests. Being part of the STE program motivates me to work harder, especially since it requires discipline, effort, and a love for learning. I believe that education is not only about gaining knowledge but also about discovering one’s potential and preparing for the future.
